Chengalpattu District Nadu Fencing State Championship
Tamil Nadu Fencing Association (Adhoc Committee) are pleased to inform that the
State Sub-Junior (U-14) Fencing Championships for Boys and Girls has been scheduled to be
held in Individual/Team events in FOIL, EPEE and SABRE weapon categories, under the
aegis of Fencing Association of India, at Sri Krishna Engineering College, Panapakkam, Near
Padappai, Via Tambaram, Chennai-601301 on 11th (Saturday) & 12th (Sunday), October,
2025.
Several dignitaries, including Mr. Dhanasekaran (President of the Chennai District Fencing Association), Mr. Karunamoorthy (District Secretary), and Mr. Nagappan (District Treasurer), took part in the event.
The competition featured events in two categories: Sub-junior (for boys and girls under 14 years of age) and Junior (for boys and girls under 20 years of age)
A large number of enthusiastic athletes participated in the fencing competitions.
An award ceremony was held in the evening to honor the winners of the first-day matches.
Former MLA of the Sriperumbudur Constituency, Mr. K. Palani of Madananthapuram, attended as the special guest and distributed prizes and congratulated the winners and participants.
During the event, the special guest was felicitated with a traditional shawl and a memento
Boys and Girls less than 14 years of age as on 1st January, 2026, the fencers born on or after 01-01-2012 are only eligible to participate in the said championship. Member Units are, therefore, requested to confirm immediately the
number of participants and submit the Entry Form in the prescribed format.
The fencers, their parents/guardians shall NOTE that the age eligibility, i.e. cutoff
date of birth, is as determined by the Fencing Association of India as guided by Fédération
Internationale d’Escrime and the Tamil Nadu Fencing Association (Adhoc Committee)
shall have no decision making authority in this respect, in case there is a change in the cutoff
date of birth, for determining the eligibility criterion. The participation of fencers shall be
with the above understanding on age eligibility criterion
